The Cat & Fiddle...and rain....

What a day! Aim of today was twofold; ride on the iconic Cat & Fiddle run through the English Midlands (between Macclesfield & Buxton) and arrive at Manchester in time for drinks & dinner.






Marginal success on both accounts!


Weather was however not at all in my favour and after leaving Nottingham I got to test my wet weather gear; thankfully it worked (mostly) and with everything dry except my hoodie I began the Cat & Fiddle with the intention of grabbing lunch at the namesake pub in the middle. It. Was. Closed.

So with the weather still not playing along I ended at Macclesfield hiding under a bridge to eat my lunch (by this stage it was after 2:30 and most pubs stop serving food). I had croissants from Aldi…very cultural but a far cry from the hot meal I’d been hoping for.

Safe to say the weather cleared up and naturally I tried the run again (3 times in all). Amazing road, amazing scenery, running late for dinner!

I arrive in Manchester to catch Rae & Tim who showed me around the city & took me to drinks and dinner. Thoroughly full of beer & food I passed out!
