MOUNTAINS! SNOW! LAKES!


Now that you’re all caught up this could be a very short post – the last 3 days have been INCREDIBLE. Not only from a scenery perspective but the riding here is amazing!

Cutting back inland from the Isle of Skye has me riding between the lochs and the mountains in absolutely perfect weather!

After a day blasting around the mountains I arrived at Glenmorangie (again).


 I’d been doing my homework and was now ready for a tour! Unfortunately photos are not allowed however I managed to lift this from their website.

This room is the smallest of their warehouses; holding 3,000 barrels of regular 10 year. The red reflects first use - the black second; after this the charring of the barrel is completely stripped and they impart very little flavor so they're sold on to be used for other purposes such as cider.


Their regular range of four products includes a 10 year which is then extra matured in 3 different types of barrels to produce the other varieties. Port Barrel; Sauternes Barrel; Sherry Barrel. 

They had each of these barrels for us to smell the contents of and they smelt AMAZING. I bought some more samples and headed home.
