Day ZERO...I walk out of the Airport tired, cold, hungry, afraid...

Actually I'd had a good feed and it wasn't that cold, and a nice sleep so perhaps just afraid. I had no sim for my phone yet; I had no internet, it was uncharted territory. It was like being in the Cold War...only they had internet then. Thankfully I had my faithful travel companion who is yet to be named (ideas!?)

After MONTHS in planning (looking at bikes on the internet) and YEARS of collecting points I'd finally arrived and struggled my way through the airport and onto the train with my utterly unnecessary volume of luggage; partially due to airport security frowning on wearing full motorbike gear on a plane (if we crash will my helmet protect me?!). Finding my way thru the confusing mess of the London Tube (its super easy...google maps solves everything when you have internet!) made it to my apartment and immediately began exploring. 26,000 steps later I'd walked for hours and solved the major crisis in my life...what to eat for dinner!

London has really turned on the good weather so some of my photos actually worked!

DAY ONE: The Motorbike!

With a tea (*cultural*) an expensive (~$100AUD) train ride down to Bournemouth I began my hunt for a motorbike. It wasn't a long search thankfully!

Bournemouth is a seaside town at the south of the UK popular with retirees as it has a more beach/sunny/not raining all the time feel. Apparently the weather there is opposite to London (sunny) so IMMEDIATELY after I picked up my Triumph Tiger 800 it began to rain. Not small...sprinkley...drissle but FULL ON THUNDERSTORM. Thankfully this cleared quickly and I made it to Portsmouth dry.

Portsmouth is a historic naval dock and home to several historic battleships which looked amazing however the photos were terrible as it was still overcast.

I then hit the freeway and blasted back to London; 90 mins on the Tiger was extremely comfortable and with the exception of indicators and speed limits being...suggestions... here too.  Arrived safely and naturally there was motorbike parking just outside my hotel!

After exploring the historic buildings last night I met up with Ale from Melb Dance Hub and we explored Piccadilly Circus which has an amazing vibe, full of tiny bars...just like Melbourne (who copied who? We'll never know)
